Books Not Yet Arrived

Helix by Marc Elsberg

Helix

The US Secretary of State dies during a state visit to Munich. During the autopsy, a mysterious symbol is discovered on his heart—caused by bacteria? Meanwhile, in Brazil, Tanzania, and India, employees of an international chemical company discover crops and animals that shouldn't exist. At the same time, Helen and Greg, a couple in their late thirties unable to conceive naturally, turn to a fertility clinic in California. The doctor offers hope, even claiming he can significantly enhance their child's genetic traits. He tells them about an unofficial private research program that has already produced nearly a hundred "specially gifted" children. Naturally, Helen and Greg want to give their child the best start in life, right? But then one of these children disappears, and everything points to a connection with strange events—not just in Munich, but worldwide...

Crimson Revenge by Jean-Christophe Grangé

Purpurne Rache

Grégoire Morvan, gray eminence of the French Interior Ministry, made his fortune in the seventies with lucrative business ventures in the Congo. There, he captured the notorious killer Homme-Clou, who murdered nine people following a horrific ritual. When a body is found at a Breton military school, grotesquely disfigured in a manner similar to Homme-Clou's methods, and Morvan's family faces imminent danger, he must confront the shadows of a past that has never stopped thirsting for blood...

The Nostradamus Heist by Gerd Schilddorfer

Der Nostradamus-Coup

Nostradamus's prophecies remain cryptic even today. No wonder—Nostradamus himself stole them back then and never fully understood the verses... When John Finch stumbles upon a notebook with encrypted texts and a photograph of a painting, he doesn't realize it will lead him to trace these very prophecies. And thus to a secret so spectacular and breathtaking that John soon finds himself in a dangerous chase across Africa and Europe. The prophecies aren't predictions at all, but a treasure map to one of history's most legendary treasures—right in the heart of Europe...

No Way Out by Kathrin Lange

Ohne Ausweg

After a bomb attack at the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin special investigator Faris Iskander has become a kind of undercover wildcard. He's deployed to target suspected terrorist Muhammad al-Sadiq, who is planning a terrorist attack in Berlin from prison. To get close to Sadiq, Faris must pose as an Islamist and credibly prove his terrorist intentions. But that's not his only problem: during the investigation, he and his team discover that a far-right attack is also being prepared. The operation becomes increasingly dangerous, especially since not everyone in his unit is playing with a full deck...

The Coffin Dancer by Jeffery Deaver

Letzter Tanz

A cold-blooded killer keeps Detective Lincoln Rhyme on his toes. The killer's only identifying feature is his tattoo—showing death and a girl dancing on a coffin. Rhyme believes he knows the killer, and if his suspicion proves correct, he has only one thought: revenge—for very personal reasons...

I've decided to finally read the Lincoln Rhyme books in the proper order! So Part 3 is coming up next.

The Empty Chair by Jeffery Deaver

Der Insektensammler

A young girl has been kidnapped in the Paquenoke Swamp. The prime suspect is 16-year-old Garrett Hanlon, a repulsive loner who has lived with foster parents since the death of his parents and little sister. He's fanatically obsessed with poisonous insects, which is why the townspeople—half fearful, half dismissive—call him "the Bug Boy." Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs know nothing of this yet when they arrive in Avery, North Carolina.

Death's Tale by Andreas Gruber

Todesmärchen

In Bern, the artfully arranged body of a woman is found, with a mysterious symbol carved into her skin by the killer. She won't be his only victim. Dutch profiler Maarten S. Sneijder and BKA investigator Sabine Nemez embark on a bloody treasure hunt—but the killer seems to always be one step ahead. Meanwhile, young psychologist Hannah arrives at Steinfels, a prison for the criminally insane in northern Germany. She's supposed to lead a therapy group but is only interested in one particular inmate: Piet van Loon, who was once put behind bars by Sneijder. And now becomes the key figure in a diabolical game...

Truth by Peter Temple

Die Schuld vergangener Tage

Mac Faraday doesn't believe his friend Ned took his own life. He begins investigating on his own because if it wasn't suicide, it must have been murder. Faraday's inquiries lead him to a reform school. There, he discovers a girl's body in an abandoned mine shaft. Gradually, Faraday tracks down those who abused countless girls from the reform school. The closer he gets to the truth, the more his investigation puts him in danger.

I Am Fear by Ethan Cross

Ich bin die Angst

The "Anarchist," a mysterious killer, spreads fear and terror in Chicago. He drinks his victims' blood before setting them on fire. Worse still: he forces them to look into his eyes constantly. Because they should see his true face. Not the face of the loving husband and father he's worn for his family for years, but the face of absolute evil. To bring down the Anarchist, Marcus Williams of the Shepherd Organization must turn to his mortal enemy: Francis Ackerman Junior, the most notorious serial killer of our time.

The Fire Witness by Lars Kepler

Paganinis Fluch

Stockholm. Two deaths puzzle the police. A man is found hanged in an empty room, a woman lies drowned on a boat that never sank. Two murders whose circumstances cannot be explained. Until Detective Joona Linna finally discovers a connection between the cases. The trail leads to a man who collects the violins of "Devil's Violinist" Paganini—and makes nightmares come true...
